It's a Sweet Smell

Jesse Birkey's picture

Sometimes I think it can be hard to understand or recognize the glorious life we carry with us when we have given our hearts to Jesus.  Sometimes days just seem so dark and we can barely lift our heads.  But when we are pursuing His heart I think it’s difficult to keep the kind of life Jesus ignites us with inside.  Maybe impossible.

increase, decrease

Dale Cresap's picture

Have you considered my servant John the Baptist? I said of him that among those born of women there was none greater. This is a strong statement and I was not given to exaggeration. When you consider the source it was quite a compliment. Yet of himself he said that he must decrease that I must increase. This is a response of true humility. It is only possible after a noteworthy accomplishment is recognized. You must increase before you are in a position to decrease. Do you feel that you have no recognized accomplishments? Advancement comes from me. Settle it in your heart now that when you are recognized you will give glory to me. Then I can trust you to respond correctly when I do great things through you.

retreat

Dale Cresap's picture

Have you ever been to a spiritual retreat? Did it feature a series of speakers or was it a time to get alone with me? The name implies the latter, but this has become an unfamiliar concept for many of my children. You live in a busy world, and the church has taken on the associated mindset that continuous activity is the norm. Yet some spiritual truth and insights about me and about you are only available in solitary reflection. You may argue that you can do this at any time, but do you? Have you discovered that it is not easy to find a place where you can escape the noise and agitation of this world to focus on seeking me? Yet if you seek this I will provide it as I do all things you desire.

life and death

Dale Cresap's picture

I taught my disciples that unless a grain of wheat dies it abides alone, but if it dies it brings forth much fruit. I spoke of myself and I had a unique destiny that only I could fulfill. Yet this parable addresses a universal principle. My apostle Paul went on to describe the persecutions, infirmities, and afflictions that he suffered in serving me. So you see the same principle working in him, and he said death worked in him that life might work in his audience. Do you desire to serve me in a way that brings forth life in others? In what ways are you willing to let death work in you to bring it about?

How Your Body Speaks Through Muscle Response Testing (MRT)

Mark Virkler's picture

I learned how to do Muscle Response Testing (i.e. Applied Kinesiology) in 1997, and at that time I wrote a book titled Health Mastery Through MRT. The book provides a biblical and scientific basis for MRT and teaches the reader how to do MRT. MRT is amazing because it allows your body the opportunity to communicate back to you what its needs are and how to best solve them. And it does this free for the one who learns how to do Muscle Testing, which is something I want to teach you in this blog. If you have heard Muscle Testing is New Age, then read this blog to help set your mind at ease.

Hello? Is anyone home? Who will teach people how to listen to me? And to others?

Mark Holloway's picture

Hi God. It still seems so ridiculous that I can say ‘Hi God’ and you’ll respond.

I will respond. I do. I’m vulnerable to you. There you have it. Now you know. God, the Creator, is vulnerable to you.

Job

Dale Cresap's picture

Do you understand that the Book of Job precedes the law and prophets and covenants, but addresses basic issues of faith that are still pertinent today? I provide you with blessings. What if they were to disappear? Would you still devote yourself to loving, adoring, and obeying me even in their absence? You describe your faith as a relationship with me. Job had this as well. Do you place ultimate value in it even if the secondary benefits go away? Job did and I commended him for it. This is a foundational issue that has not changed. All that has happened since in redemptive history serves to reinforce it.

Mark Holloway Is Our Newest Blogger

Mark Virkler's picture

I introduced Mark Holloway to you in a recent blog. He has written an awesome book of two-way journaling which details his battle with doubting that God is really speaking to him. I consider the book to be powerful because it describes with such reality the daily battle with doubt that we all struggle with. Satan wants us to doubt. God wants us to believe. Without faith it is impossible to please God.
