“Seeing God in All” by Cathy Kawar

Below is the final journaling exercise in the Counseled By God training module, which Cathy was completing as a student in CLU School of the Spirit.

Dear Lord, what do You want to say to me about the principles of this teaching session? How can I see You more clearly everywhere I look? Where do You want to show Yourself to me right now?”

Vision: I am wearing a white robe, and I am standing in a room surround by black walls. I see Jesus in a white robe standing in front of me, but He is gigantic and I see myself approaching Him in a normal size, then as I walk closer, I begin to decrease in size. In my shrunken state, I look up to the Lord who is before me. I lift up a teddy bear and give it to Him. I take Jesus’ hand and we start walking out of the room. He twirls me around while walking. Then I see stairs made of gold descending and we start walking downward. I reach the end of the stairs and a curtain opens up and someone dressed as a king, in gold and purple, comes behind the curtain and puts out his hand showing me gold coins. Then as I walk, and Jesus is behind me, the room is still black or dark in theme, I see a gold crown floating. Somehow the gold crown appears towards me and as I look closely it is gold but in the shape of a crown of thorns. I see Jesus’s hands place the crown on my head from behind.

Jesus: Cathy, I know the journey is long and uncertain at times. You feel so small with everything and you are humbled in My presence. You trust Me in leading you, even when the way is uncertain or unsettling. I know you keep your eyes fixed on Me; your guiding light. Don’t become overwhelmed or troubled with what may come your way. Rest assured that I am with you through it all. I am with you to guide you, speak to you, counsel you, watch over you. There are times you see Me clearly, and times where circumstances or negative thoughts or even distractions from around cause you to miss My presence that is with you. But I love how you are aware, that if My presence isn’t there, you become aware and try to re-adjust your eyes and focus on Me. The crown of eternal life is yours. For I know you will run the race in victory. A crown of gold, of the highest form, but it is also a crown of thorns. There is suffering, My child. You have gone through suffering; you are still healing from it. And perhaps things might come along the way. But I don’t want your heart to be troubled. I want you to receive My peace and joy in the midst of it all. I want you to be so dependent and confident in Me, that no matter what happens, you are firmly rooted in My love, in My nature. I will not harm you. I will not abandon you. I will bring victory in areas that you need. I am the Alpha and Omega in your life. In the end, you will receive the victory. Don’t lose your focus of Me. Don’t let anything weigh you down. I want you to become more sensitive of My presence that I am around always, even in the mundane, even in the pain, even in the valley or mountain tops. For I am your God and I am loving and faithful to our covenant. Take heart, continue to seek Me at all times. I am your source of life. It will all be worth it in the end. Surrender to Me. I love you, My child.

Cathy: Hallelujah, amen Lord. Yes, I receive Your words of comfort and encouragement. I fix my eyes on You, the maker of heaven and earth. I surrender all to You, trusting in Your loving nature. Open my eyes so that I might see You clearly and behold Your mighty works in my life and all around me. I love You, Lord.
