10 Ways God Reveals Himself to Us

Question: Lord, what do You want me to do? What is Your will for me? I want to be sure, so I don't make a mistake. I want to be guided by Your Spirit continuously. I want deep abiding fellowship with You through all the means You have prepared for me.

Mark, since I deeply desire to communicate with My children, I have provided many ways for Me to get through to each one. This is because My passion is to communicate. "God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways" (Heb. 1:1). Let Me speak to you through all these means, for then you will find certainty and then you will have success.

Creation

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse (Rom. 1:20). Mark, if you look, listen, and observe My creation, you will know My ways.

Conscience

The Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them (Rom. 2:15). Mark, I have given each one the gift of a love for the truth. As they receive it and walk in it, it takes them forward along their path of enlightenment.

Peace

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts (Col. 3:15). Mark, you know when peace rules deep within, and when hesitation or unrest is there. Honor peace. Let peace play the role of the umpire.

Pattern of Jesus

In these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power (Heb. 1:2-3). Mark, Jesus is the clearest representation of My nature and My desires toward My creation. Spend time meditating on the Gospels, and always ask, “How is Jesus responding to the situation I am in right now?" A picture will dance across your mind. That will be My revelation to you.

Illumined Scripture

Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us? (Lk. 24:32). Mark, man can twist Scripture and miss the true meaning of it. However, when I illumine it to your understanding, your heart leaps within and you KNOW truth has been revealed to you. So always prayerfully meditate upon My Word so you receive My revelation (Josh. 1:8).

Anointed reason

"Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool (Isa. 1:18). Mark, always ask Me to anoint your reasoning and then let the flow of My Spirit guide your reasoning process. That is reasoning together with Me. That is anointed reason. That is the true and perfect use of your reasoning capacity. You notice it includes pictures of your need and My fulfillment of that need. This is revelation knowledge. This is the mind of Christ.

His voice

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them (Jn. 10:27-28). Mark, My voice is the effortless flow of thoughts within you while your eyes are fixed on Me. You ask, and you receive that your joy may be full. Fix your eyes on Me, at your side. Ask and receive My effortless thoughts, flowing from My River within (Jn. 7:37-39).

Prophecy

For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted (1 Cor. 14:31). Mark, prophecy is My flowing thoughts to be spoken out for others to hear and receive. It is the same experience as My inward voice, but in this case, it is for others. It is not difficult, nor is it hard. All may do it.

Dreams & Visions

'AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS (Acts 2:17). Mark, as you well know, my dreams and visions are flowing pictures on the screen inside your mind. Again, you see it is all about being aware of what is being registered by your inner senses. This is what makes Me available to all, regardless of their education or mental abilities. This is why children can experience My presence just as much, as it is about their hearts and My flow within and through their hearts.

Counsel of others

EVERY FACT IS TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES (2 Cor. 13:1). Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory (Prov. 11:14). Mark, I made man to unite into one body, and to receive gifts one from another. Spirit-anointed gifts to be exact. Then they will be complete. Never walk alone. Never walk in the counsel of a man’s mind. Walk in the Spirit-anointed counsel of several close spiritual advisors. Then you will have success. Then you will have the victory. It is the meek who inherits the earth, not the proud.

Mark, you ask about angels. Yes, angels have given My word to My servants throughout the ages and still do today. They can and do speak through many of the means listed above. They give revelation through dreams, visions, and prophecies. They bring illumination to hearts and minds. They are part of My heavenly hosts, and they communicate My will to My people.
