These journal entries are provided by a friend I met in a seminar recently.
First journal entry
Back Story: About 25 years ago, a school superintendent, (when being confronted about an issue), told me I come out with both guns drawn.
After reading 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:16
“Lord, what are Your thoughts about that passage?”
Jesus - “I have given you the mind of Christ. You tend to ‘Come out with both guns drawn’. I want to teach you a better way. You have My Spirit living in you…a Spirit of peace, joy, wisdom, love, righteousness. If you let Me, I will flow the River of Life from My Father’s Throne into your head, heart, mind and body. I will make all things new and you are part of ALL.
Be with Me, work with Me, be moldable and eager and joyous as we work together and develop our love relationship. I know you so well, now it’s time to get to know Me in a new and different way. We will do many things as long as you are open to My leading and not your own.
So, let’s holster the guns, hold My hand and let’s walk together through the field of flowers and just enjoy each other’s presence. Put away old things for now and expect ALL things new. I love you.
Second journal entry
Back story: A relative had a child who died at the age of 8 of brain cancer. She had flowing golden hair. I met her when she was 5 and had started radiation therapy and she had only a small stubble of hair from the effects of the radiation. She was so full of energy and life! She died approximately 35 years ago.
My sister-in-law, Andrea (name changed) died of colorectal cancer in 2023.
My niece’s father doesn’t have much communication with our family and every chance he can tear apart our Christian faith, he does it.
We were trying to include him in the planning of our mother’s 95th birthday party, but, as usual, he was argumentative and very unkind.
I was new to journaling after completing the 4 Keys to Hearing God’s Voice, but I sat down and said, “Lord, is there anything You want to say to me about my relative?”
Jesus said to me, “Your relative is a wounded soul. From early on, he felt unloved. He was always searching for Me, but he chose to take another path. He has had a difficult path, with many sorrows…but he is still my cherished son and I love him. I want him to seek My face.
You have done well not to start a fight with him. He is wounded and choosing to fight comes so easily to him. I’m sad about that. Keep praying for him to yield his life to Me. His daughter was a very deep hurt for all of them. I wish he would realize she’s right here with Me and we’re having a good time. She’s not bald anymore but has flowing golden hair. She and Andrea are out in the field of flowers picking them for the table centerpieces. They’re laughing and skipping and jumping and spinning around! So much fun! I think I’m going to go and join them!
They are waving at you and blowing you kisses as they dance away. Pray for your relative and his wife.
