Breakthrough Anointing Time to Pray And Vote

Mark Virkler's picture

As we look at the elections this fall, we recognize there are no perfect candidates. Each contestant has their own flaws. This is true for each of us also. No one is perfect, except for Jesus Christ, and He is not running for president.

God didn’t want a king ruling over His people: God said a king would impose many hardships on the people (1 Sam. 8:1-22). God wanted the rule and reign of His government to come out from the hearts of men (Rom. 14:17). I agree with God. I believe the less government intrudes into our lives, the better. The thing that made America great was that we were birthed in religious revival. Righteousness ruled in the hearts of men. As a result, God lifted us up as a nation.

I believe the hope for the future of our nation is in revival occuring once again in our land. The thing I can do to promote revival is to teach people how to commune with God, hear His voice and live by His spirit. That is what I have given my life to do and many others have teamed up to help.

Who were the best kings in the history of mankind? I would assume we would think of King David, a man after God’s own heart, and Solomon, a king to whom God granted wisdom to rule (1 Kings 3:5-15). Well, King David got involved in adultery (2 Sam. 11:3,4), and then committed mass murder to cover up his sin (2 Sam. 11:14-16) and Solomon had 1000 wives/concubines. So if this is as good as it gets for godly leadership, then we sure can’t expect all that much from our leaders.

We are not voting for a person to be our spiritual pastor. We are voting for one who can lead the nation in the right direction. God’s angel declared to Daniel that God puts whomever He wants in positions of rulership (Dan 5:18-21).

VOTE! I do believe it is our God-given responsibility to cast our ballot for the one whom we believe God has raised up to lead the nation in the direction it needs to go. If we don’t vote and evil men do vote, then wickedness rules over the righteous and justice comes out perverted (Hab. 1:4). We would have no one to blame, because when we were given the chance to voice our opinion by casting a vote, we did nothing. DO SOMETHING! PRAY and VOTE! Since one of the two primary candidates listed below are going to win, for your vote to make a difference in who becomes president, it would need to be cast for one of these.

Facts Concerning Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

Here is an excellent link to an article titled Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton on the Issues. It contains actual key statements by both candidates on eleven key issues. It goes on to detail their expanded views on each topic. This is much clearer and better than the 10 second sound bites you get from the news media or a political ad. If you take 5-10 minutes to read and ponder this, you will be well informed as to where they both stand. It is interesting that apparently very recently Trump has become a Christian, and changed his opinion on abortion, as stated in the quotes below.

Dr. James Dobson, President of Focus on the Family - "I believe he (Donald Trump) really made a commitment, but he's a baby Christian. We all need to be praying for him, especially if there's a possibility of him being our next chief executive officer. I think that he's open. He doesn't know our language, he really doesn't, and he refers a lot to religion and not much to faith and belief. Yeah, well you've got to cut him some slack. He didn't grow up like we did. He's a lot nicer guy than you think. I think he is listening. There were a lot of people ministering to him personally. Mr. Trump reassured us of his commitment to appoint Constitution-upholding, conservative Supreme Court Justices. He added emphatically that he will 'eliminate the Johnson amendment that paralyzes pastors from speaking on religious issues for fear of losing their tax-exempt status.'"

Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue - "Mr. Trump invited me to join him in New York and talk about pro-life and religious issues that are critical to our nation, and after spending some time with him, I can say this: Donald Trump has not always been pro-life, but it’s because of the efforts of Operation Rescue and our partners to expose the horrors of the abortion industry that he’s come around and is now our best chance to appoint pro-life Supreme Court justices and overturn Roe v. Wade."

Journaling

I believe this election involves a huge spiritual battle and we need to win it in the heavenlies. Following is some of my journaling about these elections.

Journaling: Mark, you are to pray for wickedness to be removed and for righteousness to be exalted. You are to repent of your own wickedness first, which in this case involves your anger, hatred and judgment against politicians and the media. These attitudes in your heart and the words you have spoken release curses and demonic powers which hinder My Spirit's moving. So repent of your judgment, anger and ill-spoken words, and speak words of blessing and honor and respect toward your government and media. I am the One who puts over mankind the basest of men. I give you the government you deserve. (See this free downloadable file on "The God who creates calamity for the sake of His children" - Isa 45:7.)

I have asked My Church to pray for their governments (1 Tim. 2:1,2). Instead they have judged them and brought curses upon themselves and their land. So repent, pray and believe for MY deliverance and My power and My glory to be released through your elected leaders. Pray for righteousness to be exalted and for wickedness to be removed. Behold, I will do as you ask. Pray and vote.

Scripture - how anger opens the door to sin

"Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it." (Gen. 4:6-7)

The accuser is satan (Rev. 12:10). We do not need to do his work and accuse.

Pray this - between now and November elections

Repenting for the sins of the nation - taken from Daniel 9:5-11: We have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. Righteousness belongs to You, O Lord, but to us open shame, as it is this day.

We have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His teachings which He set before us through His servants the prophets. Indeed we have transgressed Your law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice; so the curse has been poured out on us, along with the oath which is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, for we have sinned against Him (Dan 9:5-11).

My sins: Lord, I repent for my judgments, anger and dishonoring words I have spoken about politicians and the news media. I turn away from this sin, and choose to pray for those who hold positions of authority. I receive Your cleansing for this sin, and I now stand clean and upright before You.

Demons, be gone: In Jesus' name, I dismiss all spiritual forces that were attracted by my anger, judgments and ungodly words, and say to them: You have no more power to affect those in authority, whether it be political authority or authority in the news media. You are bound in Jesus' name. Be gone now, in Jesus' name. Leave, in Jesus' name.

Turn hearts: Lord, I pray that you will turn the hearts of those in authority toward truth and righteousness. I pray their hearts respond to the wooing of Your Spirit. Convict their hearts of truth, righteousness and justice.

Exalt righteousness: I pray for righteousness to be exalted and for wickedness to be removed. I pray for evil words to fall to the ground with no power to influence. I bind deception and say, you are powerless to influence. I call for truth to be exalted by the Spirit of the Most High God.

Thanksgiving: I thank You, Lord, that You, the Most High God, rule in the realm of mankind (Dan. 4:17,25,32,34). I bless Your name forever and ever. Amen.
