“Happy holidays, My child. Come with Me, I want to tell you a story. It is a story that you may have heard a thousand times before but only encountered as you would a Christmas card, a movie or piece of pop culture entertainment.”
“It is the Nativity Story; the birth of My Son, Jesus Christ. Yes, there are age-old mysteries to this story: how am I the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit but one? These are mysteries that you don’t fully understand.”
“I want to make this a living, breathing story to you. It was a historical story, not just a fantasy. Let Me breathe life in the story, stripping away the fables bringing you into an encounter with the story itself.”
“Come, with Me, and use the vision and eyes of your heart. No matter what time you are reading this, I want you to encounter the magic that is Christmas again. So, come, come away with Me. Every day we will read the Bible Story again and again, meditating on the Nativity Story, so it may go from head to heart.”
“Come, come away with Me; use your vision and imagination and the eyes of your heart to experience this.”
“See, I bring you to the gates. The giant, royal-looking; old English-looking gates like something from the historical time period of the Charles Dickens novel, The Christmas Carol.”
“In big letters made of gold and silver, overarching over the gates, is the name of this special secret place for you and Me.”
“Christmas Mountain.”
“Now, the gates open, and the smoke and clouds disappear, and you are transported to the secret place of Christmas.”
“Snow gently falls, that light snow which is both warm and cold, and you see the road leading up near the top of a mountain.”
“The road diverts into two paths, one to the left and one to the right. A sign shows you the left path leads to the Father’s house, the right to Christmas Village.”
“The village is very much architecturally like the Charles Dickens village of old; but for now; let’s go to Papa’s house; My house. It is only a short walk; and before you is a large house covered with snow; with a Christmas tree forest all around it.”
“Come, come, you are the delighted guest of the house. Knock, and I will answer the door.”
“The door is opened. The front room is where the shoes and hallway closet is for coats and boots. To the left and the right is the opening living room; a large rectangular room.”
“On the far left is a working fireplace, wooden fire all set up, stockings, neatly set up as well. In the middle of the room is the hallway leading to the kitchen and the rest of the house.”
“Also on the left is a beautiful sofa. To the right along the wall in front of you is a very old-fashioned, early twentieth century stereo and record player, the giant one they used to have as a stereo. Beyond that is the Father’s armchair, My armchair and another seat right next to it, with a small table dresser in between, sit, sit down and rest with Me.”
“There is a big, giant family Bible on the coffee table. Next to the armchair is a small bookshelf in the corner, with a various Bible translations. We will use these to read for our adventures.”
“And so, I pull out the Bible and sit in front of you. Now, we begin.”
