Don't Write Off the Church, Prophesy Life to Her by Ian Wilkinson

Prophetic word through a Bible meditation, sent to me from Dr. Ian Wilkinson, a doctoral graduate from Christian Leadership University. 

Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’ ” So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ (Ezek. 37:9–11)

Some Christians have lost all hope in the church. They think it is dry. Dead. Bunch of corpses. “Our hope is lost.” Really?  My hope has never been in the church. My hope is in God. The bones could not affect change. The skeletons could not rise up. The bodies of the slain could not fight. And then God breathed. And they became a great army - an exceedingly great army. I’m no history expert but I don’t recall Israel ever becoming noted for having an exceedingly great army after the Babylonian captivity. Israel was reborn after captivity but then subjugated by the Romans and later destroyed. So this vision of an exceedingly great army has not yet been fulfilled. We are the righteous real Israel. And we are on the threshold of a mighty blowing of the wind. As God’s people make declarations and pray, the wind of the Spirit will blow. His living water will flow. His power and purpose in us will glow. Don’t write off the church. God is able to raise the dead. He will have his army. And they will be triumphant. Thus saith the Lord!
