Sabrina has been through incredible trauma, including being repeatedly raped by family as a child for years, as well as being tortured. The sexual assaults continued in numerous foster homes. This led to Sabrina being institutionalized and incarcerated for violence and multiple suicide attempts. Sabrina has been homeless, suffered from alcohol and drug abuse and mental illness, and more.
Sabrina was taken in from a homeless shelter in the last year by a wonderful couple who are also facilitating her counseling. Sabrina said that God told her to share her story if it would help others.
In working with Sabrina through counseling using PTHTH (Prayers That Heal the Heart), she has experienced tremendous freedom from her severe heart wounds.
Sabrina’s testimony
“Counseling has helped me to open up more because it has shown me that God‘s love for me is unconditional. The inner healing showed me that when I thought I was all alone in the things I went through in my life, God showed me that He was in the midst of it all. When God showed me that He protected me from a whole lot worse, it said to me that He really cared about me when I thought that nobody else did.
“Pastor Don led me to forgive all these people that have hurt me, which I could’ve never done on my own. I had hate for all these people before I started this counseling. Without Jesus, I was not able to do it by myself, but He helped me to forgive. The forgiveness has made my heart be transformed into what God wants me to be. I am learning how to love in the midst of all the hate that I had. Jesus is actually giving me a love for these people who hurt me so much.
“The counseling has really helped me cope better with things. I talk things out now instead of being angry and lashing out like I did before. As I’ve been healed more, I’m able to tell people how I feel instead of losing my temper easily. I am not as angry as I was before!
“I get to see my (12-year-old) daughter more since I’ve been in counseling because her adopted parents have seen a real change in me. They see me as more compassionate. They let me visit whenever I like and even stay over.
“Journaling the love verses and getting visions has helped me become more in tune with God and see how He feels about me – instead of how others have treated me.
“Journaling these verses and having the visions has actually helped me to learn to love myself. I have hated myself, and I have tried to kill myself many times since I was seven. I am seeing how God values me more. This actually makes me feel wonderful!!!”
Sabrina wants everyone who reads this to know that, “With God all things are possible; you are loved, and life matters. Keep persevering and don’t give up!”
Sabrina wanted me to share her story so that God would get the glory! Please pray that God continue to do miraculous healing in Sabrina’s heart. She is an amazing woman who has ministered to me with her courage and faith. What an honor to know and work with her and to see the awesome future that God has for her. God, how do You love me in this verse?
“I laid down my life for you. You must give the same grace and lay down your life for the people who caused you pain and forgive them. Be a fellow worker of the truth and help others every chance you get. I’m teaching you to love as I have loved you. Take up your cross daily and follow Me. Keep loving in a selfless sacrifice that reflects My light and love.”
Vision
I am in a field with the people who hurt me. Jesus is there, placing His hands on each one’s head, praying for them as I forgive.
“In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.” Isaiah 63:9
“God, how do You love me in this verse?”
“I am rebuilding your life in Me and not what the world has caused. I am with you. Stop denying the pain of the abusers. They haven’t defeated you. I am your comforter. Trust and abide in Me. Keep seeking Me for relief. Remember where I bought you from. Keep My word on your lips so that you won’t fall. I have chosen you. I am redeeming you from slavery. I have a steadfast love for you. My love for you binds us together, and I will carry you through. I will deliver My promises. You will be safe from all danger. You are discovering My peace. Your future will have a story of hope love, kindness, and souls won to Christ. I love you so. I am your aid in your troubles.”
Vision
I am surrounded by angels. They’re singing over me. Jesus is hugging me, showing me what genuine love feels like.
