Heart Faith Experienced Through God’s Names

Mark Virkler's picture

Throughout Scripture, encounters with God and His grace caused people to attribute specific names to God. Have you had divine encounters similar to these?

Heart faith is revelation-truth pictured, pondered, and spoken as
my present tense, positive, visually-seen, emotionally-felt reality
which moves me to action and results in miracles.

Experiencing God as Jehovah-Jireh

  • Meaning: Jehovah will see, will provide
  • Background story: The Lord had made a promise to Abraham: “I will establish My covenant with him (Isaac) for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him” (Gen. 17:19).
  • The Lord tested Abraham (Gen. 22:1). Go to a mountain and sacrifice your son (Isaac).
  • Abraham’s faith: He considered that God is able to raise people even from the dead (Heb. 11:19).
  • At the tipping point, Abraham sees God’s provision: Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son. Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, "In the mount of the LORD it will be provided" (Gen 22:13-14).
  • God repeats His promise: "In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice" Gen 22:18.
  • Journaling: Lord, remind me of a similar time where I have obeyed Your voice in a time of great testing and have experienced You as my Jehovah-Jireh. (My journaling is below. Please do your journaling.)

Mark, I told you CWG would saturate the world when no one but 120 in Arcade knew about the 4 Keys. You have believed, proclaimed, felt impassioned, and acted in obedience to this vision, and you are seeing it being birthed around you as millions are hearing My voice and sharing it with others. So YES, you have heard My voice and followed it, even though it has cost you, and now you are seeing the fruit of this.

Thank You, Lord, for showing this to me.

Experiencing God as Jehovah-Nissi

  • Meaning: Jehovah my banner
  • Story: Moses said to Joshua, "Choose men for us and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand." Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought against Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed.
  • At the victory point - Moses built an altar and named it The LORD is My Banner (Ex. 17:9-15).
  • Journaling: Lord, remind me of a similar time when I have lifted my hands to You (literally or spiritually) and You have brought forth the victory. (My journaling is below. Please do your journaling.)

Mark, you lay on the floor of FGT all those years ago, fasting and praying and crying out to Me for deliverance and breakthrough, and breakthrough is yours. I am the banner over CWG Ministries. I have sheltered and shielded it and will continue to do so.

Thank You, Lord.

You are welcome, My son. You are welcome.

Experiencing God as Jehovah-Raphe

  • Meaning: Jehovah heals
  • Situation: Only bitter water to drink in a hot desert.
  • Story: So the people grumbled at Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" Then he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There He made for them a statute and regulation, and there He tested them. And He said, "If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer" (Ex 15:24-26).
  • Journaling: Lord, remind me of a similar time when You have been my healer, as I heeded Your voice and Your commands. (My journaling is below. Please do your journaling.)

I have led you to humidifiers that have healed Patti's cough when in dry air. I have shown you herbs that have chased away parasites. Yes, I have done this through other people who had the wisdom to become My healing hands, but you have listened, honored, and sought them out and tried that which they have had to offer you.

Experiencing God as Jehovah-Shalom

  • Meaning: The Lord is Peace
  • Situation: When Gideon saw that he was the angel of the LORD, he said, "Alas, O Lord GOD! For now I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face." The LORD said to him, "Peace to you, do not fear; you shall not die." (Judges 6:22-23)
  • Memorial built: Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD and named it The LORD is Peace (Judges 6:24)
  • Journaling: Lord, remind me of a similar time when I have been in great fear and You have restored me to peace. (My journaling is below. Please do your journaling.)

Mark, you have learned you can trust Me to provide for your financial needs. This has been a growing trust over the years, and it will continue to grow. Thank you for responding to My loving care and trusting Me on ever-increasing levels.

Experiencing God as Jehovah-Tsidkenu

Meaning: The Lord is Our Righteousness

  • Story: "Behold, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; And He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land (Jer. 23:5).
  • Promise: "In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell securely; And this is His name by which He will be called, 'The LORD our righteousness' (Jer. 23:6).
  • Journaling: Lord, speak to me about a similar time when I have experienced You as my righteousness. (My journaling is below. Please do your journaling.)

Mark, you learned many years ago to cease looking upon your righteousness and instead gaze upon mine. That has helped you and all who have heard and received this message. So continue on. The message of divine encounter bringing life transformation is a crucial and central message for my church in this hour. It will spread like wildfire. Continue on in sharing this revelation truth.

Thank You, Lord, I will.

Dig deeper

Hearing God's voice is as simple as: 1) quieting down (Ps. 62:1-5), 2) beholding Jesus at my right hand (Ps. 16:8; Acts 2:25), 3) asking for His revelation and tuning to flowing thoughts and flowing pictures (Jn. 7:37-39; Jer. 2:13; 10 pictures), and 4) recording this flow (Hab. 2:1,2; Rev. 1:9-11). I then test it, ensuring it lines up with Scripture (Ps. 1:2; Jn. 10:35; 1 Thess. 5:2) and is affirmed in the hearts of my three spiritual advisors (2 Cor. 13:1; Prov. 11:14). See this link.

Definitions of heart faith

Heart faith is conceived by a rhema and vision from God, which, when incubated through pondering, speaking, and acting, births a miracle in God’s fullness of time.

Heart faith is revelation-truth pictured, pondered, and spoken as  my present tense, positive, visually-seen, emotionally-felt reality that moves me to action and results in miracles.

Heart faith is a gift from God, conceived by God's rhema and vision which is then pictured, pondered, and spoken as my present tense, positive, visually-seen, emotionally-felt reality. God guides the entire process. Heart faith moves me to action, and in the fullness of God's timing, a miracle is released.

How to Walk by the Spirit

How to Walk by the Spirit

by Mark and Patti Virkler | 136 Pages | Previous name "Sense Your Spirit"

Are you like many western Christians who have been taught little about how to sense their spirits? Do you have trouble even defining what spirit sensations feel like within you, much less recognizing them? This training was birthed from Mark’s passion to live out of his spirit, and thus release the anointing of God. The problem he faced was lack of clear biblical definition as to what his spirit felt like. So Mark looked up every verse in the Bible on heart and spirit.
