My counselee said, I have already gone through deliverance for all this and had demons cast out. How can they be back?

The principle – filling the house with light
Jesus said, “When a demon is cast out of a person, it roams around a dry region, looking for a place to rest, but never finds it. Then it says, ‘I’ll return to the house I moved out of,’ and so it goes back, only to find that the house is vacant, warm, and ready for it to move back in. So it goes looking for seven other demons more evil than itself, and they all enter together to live there. Then the person’s condition becomes much worse than it was in the beginning.” (Matt. 12:43-45 TPT)
Steps I take to keep my deliverance
I invite the Holy Spirit to enter and fill, and take control of the area that was previously controlled by the demon that was just cast out. I stop sinning and practice new righteous behavior.
I receive new pictures: Often the demon entered and was anchored through a hurt in my past, which needs inner healing. Since the demon was anchored by the painful picture of this hurtful scene, I first removed the anchor through inner healing prayer. I invite Jesus to appear in the scene and show me what He is doing and saying. I receive His wonderful counsel, which I receive through his actions and words (flowing pictures and flowing thoughts - which I record).
Since Jesus promises that He can and does work all things out for good, I ask Him, “What is the gift You have produced in my life through this experience?” He tells me, and I thank Him.
The above steps help remove a legal right for the demon to have been within me. This, along with a few other steps, dislodges the demon. (More legal rights are revealed and removed in our “Prayers That Heal the Heart” training.
Now I gaze ONLY at this new picture.
Whenever I share this story of the past hurt, or review this scene in my mind, I ALWAYS include and major on what Jesus said and did, and the new, wonderful gift Jesus produced in my life through this experience. So now the new picture and story produce thankfulness, gratitude, and enlightenment. These all glorify Jesus. This once again turns on the light within me, keeps my house FILLED with the Holy Spirit so a demon of darkness seeking to re-enter is not able to! I have displaced the negative picture with a positive picture. The only way I know of to heal and remove negative pictures is through displacement. You can’t push darkness out. You must bring in the light of Jesus. His light dispels darkness.
My story of deliverance and healing
One big trauma in my adult life was being abruptly fired from the pastoral staff I was a part of. I was invited to have breakfast with other pastoral staff members. During breakfast, they let me know they had fired me the evening before, and I was to clear out my office today. I was in shock.
I hated them for this unwarranted atrocity, and played this scene over and over in my mind, of being stabbed in the chest, blood on the floor, and Jesus nowhere around. This picture I am gazing on contains a lie, because Jesus is always present (Ps. 23:4). Gazing at this evil picture produced anger, hatred, arthritis, and invited in demons of anger, hatred, and murder.
Deliverance for me involved inner healing during my morning devotional time. I invited Jesus into the scene where I was fired, saw him laughing hilariously and saying, “Mark, I have told you over and over to leave this job, and you wouldn’t go, so I just kicked you out. You can see these men as evil men or as instruments in My hand, thrusting you into the fulfillment of your destiny. If you hold the first picture, it will produce death in you. If you hold the second picture, it will produce life. You choose.”
I chose the second picture, repentance for my hating, and cleansing by Jesus’ blood. Within one week, all my arthritis was gone, and now, 40 years later, I am blessed with health and a worldwide ministry.
Jesus added, “Whatever you fix your eyes on grows within you. Whatever grows within you, you become.”
The way to draw demons back into your life is to continue to gaze upon pictures in your mind that do not include Jesus in them (i.e., lying pictures). These attract darkness.
The rule is: ONLY gaze upon pictures with Jesus in them, alive, moving, and revealing His life, His wisdom, and His perspective. This fills you with His Light and lets you speak words of life (not death), and be a healed minister of the good news of Jesus Christ, the One who transforms our lives.
Keep those demons OUT! SEE Jesus ALWAYS, and present with you in every situation!
Note: if you do fail, and a demon says “I’m back,” simply repent for the failure, tell the demon he is NOT back and he is NOT welcome, and to be gone in Jesus' name, NOW! Then fix your eyes back on Jesus, and welcome His wonderful counsel. Be restored to your walk in the light.
2nd note: Since a picture IS worth 1000 words, you MUST be beholding pictures of Jesus at your side in every situation. NOW you get to live in the light of His glory, and not in the misery of darkness and pain!
