I Won’t Negate Your Free Will – Journaling Prayer by LaWanda

LaWanda – Precious Lord, My Savior, My King, I love you, Lord.  Your words are life to me.  As I read your words you have so tenderly spoken, Lord, I am so moved by your love for me.  You will not leave me, nor will you leave me alone.  Thank you for being ever-present.  Even when I am oblivious, you are there.  I praise you, Lord.  I thank you, Lord.  As you pour out your love on me again and again, I am undone.  Even as I struggle, you are there in the midst of it, seeing it, holding it…and me.  Love so amazing, so divine.  Love so beyond my limited mind.  Even in these times, Lord, you are there, working, loving me, holding me.  Jesus, I speak Jesus.  I can say nothing else, Lord.

I see you, Lord, holding me and all my mess – my dragging feet, my resistance, and even as you do, you are changing it, using it on my behalf.

Jesus – “Yes, LaWanda, My dear one, my PRECIOUS, messy one.  You are Mine.  I have called you by your name and you are forever Mine.  Remember what I am saying to you on this day, LaWanda.  Remember it when you don’t want to get up at 3 in the morning to pray.  Surrender really is the beginning and not the end.  And surrender begins with “I can’t, Lord.”  Your “I can’t” becomes My “I CAN.”  It allows me to pour out My grace on you and into you in ways I otherwise cannot because I will not negate your free will.

So be thankful for these “I can’t” times that seem so bad, that feel so bad, and KNOW that I am here waiting for you to say those exact words.  Your “I can’t” becomes My “I can” and surely, I will, LaWanda.  Surely, I will!
