I love testimonies that break down the walls formulas attempt to build around our hearts. Formulas bring turmoil and anxiety with them as we try and fit everything into neat little boxes. I went through a season in my life where I tried to depend on formulas. Sometimes they actually worked and it was great. But the times they didn’t and those were stressful times.

I was spending some time with the Lord and I suddenly saw a picture of a large tumbleweed. The sticks and twigs and debris were wrought together in a very cruel looking way. Edges stuck out exposing sharp points.
I was standing in the young mans living room thinking; I can’t believe this guy called 911. Terrible right? Insensitive, I know. It’s what I was feeling at the moment. We’d been busy and I was tired.
I was spending some time with the Lord one morning not too long ago, when I suddenly saw a vision of a grassy meadow with a quiet stream running along side it. There was a nice tree there also. It was a picture of serenity, of rest.
I sat in the gym and looked at the people around me. They were doing their thing-lifting weights, running on cardio equipment and what not. I started to wonder about Jesus and what He would be doing if here were physically there.
Fear is something many of us struggle with. For some it’s a much greater struggle for others as panic/anxiety attacks are very destructive to our quality of life. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to see this extreme manifestation of fear a number of times so I know just how terrible they can be.
