The Apostle Paul encourages us to desire spiritual gifts, especially prophecy. Interestingly, the word "desire" means "aggressively chase, like a hunter pursuing a catch (prize)." This is a very powerful word. The question has to be asked: why is this so important? Today, I will talk about this.

Me - LORD, I am overwhelmed by what you are showing me. I started out my walk with you in a Baptist congregation. I was taught about baptism and was baptized, but I did not realize the grace/power it delivered. What You kept highlighting to me as I meditated on your Word was: “in the name of the Father, in the name of Jesus, in the name of the Holy Spirit.” Lord, this feels like treasure ….. speak to me, please.

Mark, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except by Me. It is time to re-introduce this to your people.
Linda - Oh my unsearchable God, I worship You. Lord, I have difficulty wrapping my mind around eternity while I still reside in this temporal body. When I meditate on Your names, Father, I just want to submerge myself until I am baptized in this revelation of who You are, and who You are in me. Talk to me about Your redemptive names.
I want miracles! I want spiritual transformation! Like Paul, I fight against the sinful desires of my flesh (Rom. 7), sickness in my body and lack in my life. I agree with Paul's conclusion: I cannot overcome the flesh using the power of the flesh. ONLY the power of the Spirit can work a miracle of transformation (Rom. 8). To access this power, I need to surrender self-effort as that stands in the way of divine enabling. Wow! I need to stop striving if I am going to make it in life! That's just a bit counter-intuitive!
The flesh cannot overcome the flesh - only the Spirit can!
I shift my faith from depending on self to depending on God.
Surrendering to God’s power allows transformation to occur.
