The Mud Puddle – Journaling Prayer by LaWanda

LaWanda - O Jesus, precious Jesus.  I see you, Lord, waiting for me as I turn my eyes on you.

I am at your feet once again, Lord.  My head on your thigh, but I am not at rest, Lord.  I am holding on for dear life.  I do not want anything to tear me away from you.  I am gripping you so tightly, Lord.  And with every stroke of my head, the tension, the fear leaves me until once again, I am at rest.  O Lord, I love this place.  I love you so, Lord, as your mercy pours out on me yet again.  Lord, even in this quicksand/mud puddle I find myself in, your mercy pours out on me.  Especially here, because here is where I need it the most.

Jesus - Yes, dear one.  Please get this.  The very idea of quicksand is death.  You don’t realize you are in it until it is too late.  You are beyond your own resources.  You cannot get yourself out.  The only way out is through another.

So satan would have you go down this road…

You are beyond help.  There is no way out so you might as well stop trying. Screw God.  Look where you are.  He must not be leading you to allow you to be so totally engulfed in this mess.  He has left you.  You are on your own.

All of this when you are simply in a mud puddle one inch high.  This is what he does.  Lies.  Lies.  Lies.  And more lies.  LaWanda, if it isn’t love or loving, it is not of Me.  If it is death, it is not of Me.  If it isn’t peace, it is not of Me.  And all you have to do is turn to me.  I am there with the rope to pull you out. 

All it takes is 5 minutes at my feet, LaWanda and your eyes WILL be opened.  You will see the puddle and know that the quicksand was never really there.  You thought it was, but the reality of my presence in these few moments will show you the truth.  The truth that was always there.  The quicksand was an illusion.  You were NEVER in quicksand.  You were always in a puddle.  And I was ALWAYS there waiting for your eyes to turn to Me.
