When was your first mission trip? How much did it impact your life?
Josh and Charla both went on their first trips when they were teens (Josh to Mexico and Charla to Turkey), and it opened their eyes to a much bigger world.
Their church is sponsoring a trip to the Dominican Republic this summer, and they are planning to go with their children, who will be 15 (Jasmine), 13 (Rebekah) and 11 (Hudson) at the time of the trip.
Not only will it be with a group of people they know and love, but it's connected with Compassion International. Our family has been sponsoring children through Compassion since before Josh and Charla met, so the ministry is near and dear to all our hearts as Josh, Charla and the grandkids have all continued to support a child through Compassion.
The missions trip is June 23-26. Short and sweet, but totally life-changing!
How you can be involved
There are a lot of needs as the family prepares:
- Prayer covering. They would love to know there is a team of people praying for the health of the family and the whole church group, and that they will do everything God has on his heart to do with and through them during these days.
- Financial support. Each member of the family needs to raise $1800 ($1650 for the trip plus passport renewals).
Would you be a part of answering either or both requests? They will be sending out updates about the trip to those who are interested in hearing about it.

Joshua wears many hats for CWG Ministries. He is in charge of getting the free streaming events to you each month. He keeps our computers running. He is in charge of advertising and typesetting, just to know a few of his jobs.
Charla has created several websites: Christian Leadership University, CLU School of the Spirit, Take Charge of Your Health, Love Story Library, and Born of the Spirit.
The three grandkids have just finished a job for us of putting topical crosslinks at the bottom of over 1000 blogs on the CWG website, to make it easier for people to explore the topics they are interested in. And I continue to find new jobs they can accomplish.
So this family has blessed you greatly, and now is a time we can all bless them back.
