First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. (1 Tim. 2:1-8)
Journaling from Mark Virkler
When I say pray for the government, it means to pray for peace. To pray for righteousness to be exulted. To pray for wickedness to be exposed and removed. It is to pray for voices of respect, harmony, and unity to be lifted up and for the voices of fear, anger, and disunity to be cast down. Pray for My Spirit to move in the hearts of mankind and for the forces of the enemy to be bound and cast down. Pray for revival in My church.
SOME are called to become specific intercessors for specific needs within governments, nations, and principalities. Each one is to find My specific call upon their heart and their life, and become informed enough to accomplish that call.
Do not feast on evil for evil’s sake, as that is toxic to your soul. Only learn what you need to learn to pray effectively in the way I have called you to pray. Anything beyond that is a sin and is corrosive to your soul.
Pastor Peg’s prayer ministry - Peg is called to pull down principalities and powers. She is called to pray specifically for daily issues that arise concerning governments. Therefore, she becomes much more informed. You can request to be put on Peg’s email list, as she sends out daily requests for specific intercession needs (pego91351@gmail.com). She also functions as a Spirit-filled Christian counselor.
Be Not Discouraged — Be of Good Cheer! By Pastor Peg Yarbrough

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” —Deuteronomy 31:8
In my counseling ministry, I’ve noticed many people struggling with discouragement, feeling disheartened, and drained of enthusiasm.
Discouragement is not a godly state, and we must help each other regain our spiritual spark. Especially by walking with compassion, love, and understanding towards our brothers and sisters in Christ.
I have observed three common patterns:
- Disappointment in God’s Timing: Some, especially those who were deeply spiritually engaged during this last election, may feel let down because anticipated changes haven’t happened as quickly as they anticipated.
- Burnout from Spiritual Warfare: Others, long engaged in spiritual warfare, face increased responsibilities from the Lord and are experiencing burnout.
- Vexation from Fallen World: Others are worn down by direct and indirect attacks from the Adversary, much like righteous Lot dwelling in Sodom: in 2 Peter 2:8, For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds.
Lot was “vexed” or worn down by the demonic activity of the Sodomites all around him. “Vexed” is the Greek, basanizō: to be worn down, worn out, mentally tortured.
It is ONLY by focusing on Jesus that we can be refreshed to fight another day. With our eyes on the Lord, we can “Be of good cheer, we have overcome the world!” John 16:33, one act at a time.
Overcoming Discouragement
Trust in God’s Timing:
Dealing with hope deferred. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9) The antidote to impatience is trusting God’s perfect timing. We do our best and let God do the rest, knowing His clock is always right.
Burnout from Increased Work:
As God enlarges our borders and responsibilities, we must “Take heed to yourselves and [then] to all the flock.” On an airplane, you are instructed to put your oxygen mask on first in order to take care of others. Ask Jesus to direct your pace. Not some misplaced sense of urgency.
A Vexed Soul:
To combat the weariness of a perverse world, prioritize relaxing daily in communion with God. Pray throughout the day, mindful that Christ lives in you, loving you and providing answers every step of the way. Commune with God, seek the Lord’s counsel on pacing yourself, exercise, eat well, stay hydrated. Many have quoted Proverbs 13:12 to me, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick,” and I agree 100%. Waiting is hard! But the antidote is in the same verse, “but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” Keep the faith! Trust God’s timing. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him. Psalm. 37:7. We are to REST in the LORD while we are waiting, knowing The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. I Thess. 5:24
Don’t Quit by Edgar A Guest
For over fifty years, this poem below has inspired me when I was worn out and wanted to quit:
Often, the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor's cup; And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out - the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And when you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst, you must not quit.
We cannot stop the waves of discouragement from coming, but… we can learn to surf. Jesus is our gentle surf instructor. Seek His guidance, and He will carry you through the roughest waves.
Journaling received by Pastor Peg - A Word from the Courts of Heaven
Fear not, little one, it is My good pleasure to give you the kingdom. I am your King, your Lord, and your Savior. When the angels see you and Me together, they rejoice, they clap their hands, they have a smile that will take a plastic surgeon to get it off their face!
Dear one, you are living in times of restitution and the times of refreshing. And that REFRESHING must begin in My ekklesia first. Open your heart wide that I may fill it.
I AM refreshing the Body of Christ, and restoring what the adversary has stolen from my people: liberty, peace, and abundance. I AM exalting My name above all others. Keep your eyes fixed on Me, I AM your constant fountain, refreshing you daily.
Be of good cheer! I AM large and in charge! I have many faithful disciples crushing demons under their feet daily, and ushering in a new level of peace, calm, and prosperity, following words of knowledge and words of wisdom to break the Dragon’s back at My prompting in their spirit.
Every lie shall be exposed. My righteous judgment is spreading around the globe, like a burning fire: loving, purifying, cleansing. The bad actors who have ‘hosted’ these abominations shall be punished in the here and now with My righteous judgment.
Change happens in the spirit realm first, and then is manifest in the Earth.
All of this is for My glory. Beloved, keep your expectations high, for I am unleashing MY love and healing to all. Expect to be refreshed! Do not be weary in well doing, but look only unto Me, for daily refreshing and strength. Be not discouraged, but take heart! “Be of good cheer! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Your loving King,
Jesus
