Removing Boxes While Wading Deeper into the River of God

I have chosen to live outside of the BOX. This has involved many small step-by-step decisions, made over 73 years. As each box was rejected, it was like experiencing the death of something I had once trusted in. However, I now see that I was stepping from sinking sand to the Solid Rock.

Having rejected…

1. Government-controlled health care – They reject natural healing, herbs, vitamins, and spiritual healing. Replaced by naturopathic and biblical health care modalities
2. Government-controlled education - Impractical, and rejects God’s voice. Replaced with home schooling and Christian Leadership University
3. Denominations – Those who have not embraced and trained in Christian spirituality. Replaced by learning to walk and live by the Spirit (Gal. 5:25).

Now we get to add to the list...

1. Government-controlled media - Rejects countering opinions. Replaced with alternative, independent-thinking, media sources.
2. Government agencies - Become inbred and self-serving. Replaced with biblical models of feeding the poor, caring for the aged, etc.
3. Scientific studies – Being corrupted by ideology and money, do not lead to truth. Replaced by observing fruit: "You shall know them by their fruits" (see Matt. 7:16-20).

Would you say that Jesus rejected all the above boxes?

1. Jesus’ choice was to live daily out of His Father’s initiative, the Spirit within Him (Jn. 5:19,20,30).
2. As you choose to live by the Spirit, you join the ranks of “men of whom the world was not worthy” (Heb. 11:38). Congratulations! You have become a hero of faith (Heb. 11).
3. OUR ONLY RECOURSE TO MAINTAINING SANITY in a world of sinking sand IS HAVING OUR hope FIXED ON JESUS, the Solid Rock (Matt. 7:24-27; Jn. 2:24,25)!

Choosing to drink from God's Fountain of Living Waters (Jer. 2:13)

1. We hear the Spirit's voice continually and respond with, "Yes, Lord" (Jn. 16:13).
2. We are always changing as His light grows brighter and brighter within us (Prov. 4:18; 2 Pet. 1:19).
3. Our TRUST is only in the Lord (Prov. 3:5-8), the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and Ruler of heaven and earth (Rev. 19:16; Dan. 4:17; Isa. 45:5-8).

• Lord, are there boxes that I still trust in, rather than trusting totally in YOU?

Moving forward

• Feeling pain is because... we are in the uprooting phase, which will be followed by the building and planting phase: "See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, To pluck up and to break down, To destroy and to overthrow, To build and to plant." (Jer. 1:10)
• Stages of pain in separation: We go through the five stages of experiencing a loss: Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Two-way journaling can take you more quickly through these steps. Perhaps presenting all your boxes to the Lord in one fell swoop could speed things up. Prayer: Lord, I know the unredeemed heart of man is evil and untrustworthy. Only You are trustworthy. I choose to not put my trust in the institutions of man. I will put my trust totally in You. I will live as Jesus lived, hearing Your voice daily and living from Your wisdom, comfort, and strength. Lord, strengthen me in this lifestyle I pray, in Jesus' name.
