I was really focused on that river that flows from the Throne of God this AM. With a bit of assistance from GROK, I wrote this poem today.

The River Within
Beneath the clamor of the world’s loud din,
Where shadows dance and dreams begin,
A stillness flows, serene and whole—
There’s a quiet river in the center of my soul.
It carves its path through stone and clay,
Through nights of doubt, through bright midday.
No storm can break its gentle roll—
There’s a quiet river in the center of my soul.
Its waters sing of peace unknown,
Of ancient truths in whispers sown.
It carries light where hearts grow cold—
There’s a quiet river in the center of my soul.
When chaos screams and fears take hold,
When time feels heavy, sharp, and old,
I find the current, get in the flow —
In that quiet river in the center of my soul.
Let's own the revelation of FLOW - From Mark Virkler
Notice OVER and OVER the concept of FLOW as it relates to the Holy Spirit. Here are nine different ways God says the Spirit is sensed as flow.
- Salvation: "The wind blows (think “flow”) where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit." (Jn. 3:8 and Acts 2:2-4)
- Lifestyle: Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming (think flow) from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (Rev. 22:1-2)
- Lifestyle: "For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters (think flow), To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns That can hold no water. (Jer. 2:13)
- Lifestyle: Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink (think flow). "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'" But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive. (Jn. 7:37-39)
- Lifestyle: "I am the vine, you are the branches (think flow of sap); he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (Jn. 15:5-7)
- Jesus modeled the perfect lifestyle for us. I do nothing on my own initiative (think flowing words and flowing pictures - found 11 times in this blog).
- Paga – The Hebrew word for intercession is paga, and it means to strike or light upon by chance, or accidental intersecting (think flowing thoughts lighting upon your mind).
- Naba – The Hebrew word for prophesying and the literal meaning is to “bubble up” (think flowing words and pictures).
- Speech - "When they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not worry about how or what you are to speak in your defense, or what you are to say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you (think flowing, bubbling words) in that very hour what you ought to say." (Lk. 12:11-12)
- Have you observed that when you are operating in flow, you supersede your natural abilities?
Question
Would you agree that, biblically speaking, the only valid lifestyle is to live in FLOW?
My confession – I break with satan's lie in the Garden (Rationalism)
I renounce the lie of satan in the Garden of Eden that “I can know” without assistance from the Holy Spirit (Gen. 3:5). Since my thoughts are not God’s thoughts (Isa. 55:9) I choose NOT to lean on my own understanding. I choose to trust the flow of the Holy Spirit to lead me into all truth (Jn.16:13).
Journaling application
Hearing God's voice is as simple as: 1) quieting myself down (Ps. 62:5), 2) beholding Jesus at my right hand (Acts 2:25), 3) asking for His input and tuning in to flowing thoughts and flowing pictures (Jn. 7:37-39), and 4) journaling out His words and visions (Rev. 1:9-11). These are THEN tested and they must line up with Scripture (Ps. 1:2) and be affirmed in the hearts of my spiritual advisors (2 Cor. 13:1).
- Lord, what do You want me to understand about FLOW?
- How do You want me to clearly articulate this concept of flow when I communicate to others the value of tuning to Your voice so they can live and walk by the Spirit (Gal. 5:25)?
