Shelli's story: I was invited to teach in the large group setting of a children’s service at my church. As I prepared for the lesson, I sensed that the Holy Spirit was leading me in a different direction than the prescribed lesson that had been shared with me.
I was to use this opportunity to take the teaching from the Communion with God course I was taking and the teaching from Children & the Holy Spirit in order to teach these children how to hear from their Father God for themselves.
Used to some sort of a “script” when I teach, the Holy Spirit required that I look to Him and lean on Him for exactly what to say during each of the 3 services. He did not disappoint. At each service, He showed up as the children quieted themselves down and tuned to Him.
The children heard from God and encouraged and affirmed all who were listening. At least 2 years later, I still hear from parents of children who were in a service that day. They confirm that that service was a pivotal moment in their children’s lives and that what happened in that service positively impacted their family.
Mark's comment: Why not teach children how easy it is to hear God's voice? For them, it is much easier than for adults, as adults are instructed to become childlike if we want to enter the kingdom. You can spread revival to individuals' hearts, families, churches and nations by leading people into practicing the four keys to hearing God's voice.
