You cannot cleanse yourself or fix what is broken - Journaling by Linda Garmon

Linda - Lord I love you. Thank you for this day. Thank you for what you are doing in my life. Lord, I admit in my teenage years I did not correctly understand these verses:

You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time (1 Pet. 5:5-6).

I viewed the humbling myself wrong…. And I also your mighty hand wrong. I thought I was supposed to devalue, deface, myself to be humble and that your mighty hand was an oppressive hand of correction. Forgive me Lord.  I do not think like that anymore.  Please tell me what you want me to know about these verses and how this will help me maintain victory in my life.

Vision - I see an ordinary clay pot. I hear, “look inside”, so I do and  I see that there is water in it partway up but there is also dust and debris in it, dead bugs, and a dead lizard and a network of spider webs. I don’t see a spider but he could be hiding. Is this me, Lord?

Jesus - Beloved, you are a vessel that I created. You are my creation and I made you for a purpose, but, I made you unique and gave you the freedom to choose what you would be filled with. There are only 2 choices… life or death. When you chose life I began filling you, starting with your heart/spirit (the real you). In your freedom to choose, I will continue filling every space you allow. My desire always is to fill you until you overflow, but I will not take by force what is not given to me willingly.

Linda - Lord, I want to be filled and overflow with all of your Life. So please, Lord wash out all those dead things that are inside of me and any hidden thing that could harm me or someone near me. What do I do after asking for this, Lord?

Jesus - The power of an overcomer comes with true humility. This is when you know that in your own strength that you cannot do anything. You cannot cleanse yourself or fix what is broken.  My grace is the power to do what is impossible for a mere clay pot to do. My grace is freely poured into all those who humble themselves before Me. See yourself Linda as you are, and simultaneously see Me as I AM.  Welcome my hand in your life, feel the love as I hold you and My protection as My hand covers you.  This is the secret place beloved one.  This is where miracles are formed and transformation takes place.

Linda - Yes Lord, I love you and welcome Your hand and Your amazing grace.
