daily word - weak and strong

Dale Cresap's picture

Paul said that when he was weak he was strong. Do you actually believe that? Is the contradiction lost on you? Do you see how this goes against every principle and assumption of your society of power and force and dominance hierarchies? This assertion doesn’t make sense under the accepted rules. In order for this to make sense you need a whole new set of rules, a view of reality different from the world around you. Recognizing that my Kingdom is not of this world is necessary to comprehend this view. How is the principle of weakness being strength manifesting in your life?

daily word - who chose whom?

Dale Cresap's picture

Do you like the liberty to choose the practice of your faith? Do you exercise it carefully, in the faith tradition you choose and the denomination and church within that tradition? Do you see this as being your choice? Does your history of liberty make it hard for you to address the question of whether you chose me or were chosen by me? This is something that could be argued either way from the scriptures. What is your perception of the practice of your faith on a daily basis? Are you choosing it, making the path as you walk it, or are you being led by a power greater than yourself?

daily word - multi-tasking

Dale Cresap's picture

Are you good at multi-tasking? This is a fairly recent term, derived from computing and the many demands on your time. Do you think that you are more effective at each task or overall when you divide your attention this way? You could be fooling yourself. Other terms for multitasking would be fragmented attention and distraction. Have you ever tried to interact with someone who is trying to do multiple things at once? Did this improve the quality of their attention toward you? The alternative to multi-tasking is presence. Is the task immediately before you worth your full attention?

When man's reason challenges heart faith... What am I to do?

Mark Virkler's picture

Answer: When God speaks to us, through two-way journaling or any other way, He is offering us His potential blessing for our lives which we can receive if we embrace it, believe, speak and wait patiently for it, while following His instructions. It seems that the biggest battle we all fight is that these rhema words get attacked through the reasoning of our minds. The accuser comes through with the thought, "Did God really say...?" So when reason attacks faith, what am I to do? Which is to be allowed to rule in my heart? What does the Bible declare we receive through faith? What does the Bible declare we receive through reason? Let's see...

Faith is acting like it is so

When it doesn’t appear to be so

So that it will be so

Because it is so

(Mk. 11:22,23)

7 Elements Which Compose the Language of Our Hearts

Mark Virkler's picture

How do I write a message on the walls of my heart? What is the language of my heart? How do I engage in “heart prayers” rather than prayers from my head? Is there a difference?

I encounter people who have been in counseling for months or years to process their hurts and are still in pain! Or they have been praying for a miracle of healing, and it is still delayed. So I ask them to share with me what they have done, and listen to their story. Often I am able to help them see that they have NOT been using the language of the heart to heal their hearts. They have been using the language of their minds (logic and analytical reason). The heal the heart, we must use the language of the heart.

daily word - wisdom keepers

Dale Cresap's picture

Everyone ages at the same rate so those who do not meet an early demise go through all the stages of life. The passage of time will turn you into an old person, but does everyone become an elder? In some churches this is a conferred title and it is an office recognized in the Bible. The term implies that it is not available to the young, but is it acquired automatically by the passage of time? What do you expect from a true elder? Have you met people who regardless of their age or conferred title manifest wisdom just by their presence? These are wisdom keepers. Do you want to be one?

How to Walk by the Spirit

How to Walk by the Spirit

by Mark and Patti Virkler | 136 Pages | Previous name "Sense Your Spirit"

Are you like many western Christians who have been taught little about how to sense their spirits? Do you have trouble even defining what spirit sensations feel like within you, much less recognizing them? This training was birthed from Mark’s passion to live out of his spirit, and thus release the anointing of God. The problem he faced was lack of clear biblical definition as to what his spirit felt like. So Mark looked up every verse in the Bible on heart and spirit.
