Are you good at multi-tasking? This is a fairly recent term, derived from computing and the many demands on your time. Do you think that you are more effective at each task or overall when you divide your attention this way? You could be fooling yourself. Other terms for multitasking would be fragmented attention and distraction. Have you ever tried to interact with someone who is trying to do multiple things at once? Did this improve the quality of their attention toward you? The alternative to multi-tasking is presence. Is the task immediately before you worth your full attention? Can you tell when others are fully present with you?
