Dearest Abba,

I love you, my God!

I long to be close to you…

           and ever closer still!

I want to hear and say

           what you are saying.

I want to see and do

           what you are doing.

It still feels

           so out of reach,

But you have said

           it is not.

You came to earth

           to restore

           intimate relationship

           between God and man—

The same intimacy

           lost by Adam and Eve,

           demonstrated by Jesus Christ—

The same intimacy

           you promised me.

The Bible is full of stories

           of how to navigate relationships—

           with people

           and with you.

Your whole purpose

           was for humans

           to live out

           of relationship to you,

Not merely live

           out of the Bible.

This is what drew me

           to the character, Tevya,

           in Fiddler on the Roof.

He talked to you

           with a sense of familiarity.

But Tevya only spoke to you

           as an idea,

           a belief.

He did not know you personally

           like Jesus Christ knew you.

Tevya tried to perpetuate

           the old covenant.

He could not draw near

           to your throne.

He could not hear your voice

           speaking his name,

           answering his questions.

His relationship

           was only wishful thinking.

But I have more

           than wishful thinking.

I partake in the covenant

           you made

           with Jesus Christ.

I have your own Holy Spirit

           living inside my heart.

I have the promise

that I will hear your voice.

I desire to live out of you

           constantly—

           to abide in you,

           not just visit you.

You said I could.

You commanded me to.

You made all the provision

           for me to.

I want to.

I choose to.

I set my intention to.

I will abide in you—

           beginning

           right this very minute—

           now!

Thank you, Abba,

that I am abiding in you.

You said

that if I abide in you,

and your words abide in me,

That I can ask whatever I want

and it will be done unto me.

Abba, I ask for complete healing—

           physical,

           emotional,

           spiritual—

So that I am free

           to love you,

           myself,

           and others.

Enable me to love

           as you love.

Enable me to love

           with your own

           free-flowing love.

And I ask that,

as far as I am able to

           to believe,

           assist,

           and support my neighbors,

That they be completely healed,

           body,

           soul,

           and spirit.

Show me how to support,

           love,

and believe and pray for them

           to be completely healed.

Forgive all their sins.

And forgive me

           for holding their sins

           against them.

I repent of all

           my nasty ungodliness

And I surrender myself

           to your mind,

           your will,

           and your emotions.

Let me feel your emotions,

           think with your mind,

           and act according

           to your will.

Is this like DNA—

           not hardwired responses,

           but toggle switches

I can turn on and off?

Where I can leave the switch

set to my old man stuff

Or I can switch over

           to your stuff—

           the stuff that fills

           the new man?

It all has to do

           with choosing

           who and what

           to believe.

The fruit of the Spirit

           are holy emotions

           plus character traits—

           love,

           joy,

           peace,

           long-suffering,

           gentleness,

           meekness

           self-control—

Produced by

           some sort of

           divine balance

           between restfully abiding

           and actively cultivating.

I believe

           I am a branch

           in your vine.

Your Holy Spirit sap

           is flowing through me.

Your holy wisdom

           is flowing through me.

The mind of Christ

           is flowing through me.

The emotions

           and character traits

           of God

           are flowing through me.

I can yield to God

           in all areas

           at all times.

Abba, what would you like

           to say to me?

—————————————-

My dearest Debba-Ru,

Yes, it is not only possible,

but it has been my intention

           all along

           for you to live

           out of me

With my Holy Spirit sap

           flowing through you.

You are my offspring!

I have planted my DNA

           in every cell

           of your being.

I have written my name

           on every strand.

You are mine!

I have called you by name!

I have planted my seed

           inside of you.

You are my field.

I intend for my Holy Spirit

           to multiply

           inside of you.

But the field must be cleared—

           the rocks removed,

           the thorns pulled out,

           and the fallow ground

           broken up and prepared.

My Word is my Seed.

But my Word is the Christ,

           the Holy Spirit anointing.

Remember,

           the Word became flesh

           and dwelt among you,

           and you beheld his glory

as of the only-begotten Son of God,

           full of grace and truth.

My Word is the Logos—

           not just the written

           or spoken word,

But the whole logic,

           intent,

           and methodology

           behind the word.

When I sow my Logos in you

by speaking Rhema, in your ears,

It is my Spirit—

           my character,

           my zoe,

           my very being—

Meant to multiply

           within you

And fill your very being

           to overflowing

           with me:

           my life,

           my love,

           my thoughts,

           my will,

           my ways—

           my very self!

It is I

           who is multiplying

           in you,

           through you—

All the colors

           of my rainbow covenant

Coming through

           the shades and hues

           and saturations

           of Debra Ruth.

When you are fully cleaned

           and rid of all impurities,

You become

           a beautiful crystal

           sparkling

           with all the colors

           of my light

           in my celestial

           chandelier!

I have made you clean;

           I have made you pure.

It is always your choice

           to be

           or not to be—

           to believe

           or not to believe—

           to shine

           or not to shine.

The crystal chandelier

           cannot shine

           without the light.

The wind chime

           cannot sound

           without the wind.

And my word planted

           cannot germinate,

           take root,

           and grow

           without the cooperation

           of the soil.

Why do you think

           I created Adam

           from the soil

           of the earth?

It was my intention

           to plant my seed—

           the Spirit of life—

           within him.

When Jesus taught the parable

of the soils and the seed,

He was looking all the way

           back to Adam—

           the first field of soil

           to receive the in-breathed seed.

And when I spoke to Mary

           and told her

           she would conceive—

She believed

           and surrendered.

I planted my Seed in her womb.

As she pondered in her heart

           the promise,

The soil of her heart

           and then her body

Accepted the Seed,

           and created an environment

           for that seed

           to germinate,

           take root,

           and grow,

And then the Savior—

           my only-begotten Son—

           was born!

I planted my seed in you.

I plant my Holy Spirit in you.

And as you meditate

           and ponder

           and receive—

           grab hold of

           all that entails—

You create an environment for

           in your heart,

           soul,

           mind,

           and body

For that seed to grow.

And as my sap-laden branches

           invade every part

           of your being

           like a mustard seed,

My mind,

           my will,

           my ways,

           my emotions,

           my character traits

           bear fruit.

As your soul prospers,

           your body will prosper

           with health.

As your mind and will prosper,

           your hands prosper

           in their ability

           to get wealth.

As your heart abides in me,

           my heart emotions

           flow through your heart

           and bear the fruit

           of the Spirit:

           my holy emotions

           and character traits.

I have made you to be soil—

           a fertile field—

           for the incubation

           and expression

           of my seed.

This is the principle

           of your life,

           of the entire earth!

I express myself through you,

           and then you express yourself

           through me

           by taking dominion

           on the earth

           through being fruitful,

           multiplying,

           and subduing

           the earth.

You look around about

           and you cherish your babies—

           your books.

I tell you,

           your books

           are the expression

Of the seed

           I have planted

           in you,

Incubated

           and nurtured

           in your heart,

Birthed through the labor

           of your pen,

Sent out into the earth

           to take on

           a life of their own

With loving prayer

           and oversight.

They are your children,

           our offspring!

More are the children

           of the desolate woman

Than she who has

           a husband!

The people you pour

           my life into

Become the vessels

           carrying dreams.

Those you nurture

           become sons and daughters.

Those whom they nurture

           become grandsons

           and granddaughters.

And I have told you

           that your grandchildren

           will do exploits.

Every seed I plant in you

           that bears fruit

Is offspring

           for the kingdom.

All that comes from my life

           is my offspring

           bearing more more fruit

           for my glory.

Whatever your hand

           finds to do,

If my life

           is in it,

Brings me glory

           and fruitfulness

           and multiplication.

Do not despise the day

           of small beginnings.

A mighty man or woman of God

           begins with the joining

of the sperm and the egg.

(And I say—I roar—to abortionists:

           “Do not despise the day

           of small beginnings!”)

This is a day that seems like

           small beginnings,

But your children

           have been developing

           years in the womb

           and the time

           is now coming.

Do not be surprised

           or dismayed

           by birth pains.

They will come

           and go.

Keep pushing.

Keep believing.

Keep moving forward

           through the process.

I am with you

           all the way.

I love you!

You are my bride

           and beloved wife!

We are making

           a family

           together!

Your husband,

Jesus Christ
