In a Confused World, Jesus Clearly Explains How One Can Come to TRUTH

Mark Virkler's picture

In today’s climate, truth is hard to come by. Lies, half-truths, and removal of any opinions contrary to the government or contrary to some pastors are the norm. Some pastors call such an independent thinker deceived or a heretic and they are banished from the church. The government says they are spreading misinformation and they are banished from social media. What’s a person to do? Is there no place for revelation, insight, and independent thinking? Peter received a revelation that Jesus was the Christ, and Jesus told Peter He would build a community of called-out believers (i.e. church), upon this revelation (Matt.16:13-18).

Jesus and Peter were not received by the religious leaders of their day, any more than any of the prophets were received which God had sent over the centuries (Acts 7:52). The following 2000 years of history show that we always resist creative leaders and prophets. Many were tortured and burned at the stake. Galileo suggested the world revolved around the sun and the inquisition in Rome declared this belief to be contrary to Scripture and put him under house arrest for the last 8 years of his life.

Blessed Trip Ministering to Many Hurting in Ukraine By Don Paprockyj

Mark Virkler's picture

My wife, Myrna, and I recently visited Lviv, Ukraine, through our ministry, Glory Power Ministries (GPM), which works closely with CWG Ministries.  We were able to minister to many displaced (those who left their war-torn regions), their children, wounded soldiers, and a number of churches.  My parents were born in the Lviv region, and I can speak Ukrainian.  I still have numerous cousins and relatives there, who we also ministered to.

I Had a Blood Transfusion and Then My Emotions Went Haywire

Mark Virkler's picture

I received this question concerning blood transfusions: I had two transfusions this year, 8 units in all. I had really bad emotional times afterward, even doubting my salvation through Jesus. I’m wondering if it could have been the blood speaking of the people who donated the blood.

Answer: Yes, because the memory of the life of the donor is in the blood you have received, and this memory will contaminate you if it is not cleansed through prayer. So let's discuss the specific prayer approach that will resolve this issue.

Let’s Join Hands in Pursuing Spirit-Born Revival!

Mark Virkler's picture

The only hope for the world is the Church. The only hope of the Church is the Holy Spirit Who empowers and guides us just as He did Jesus.

Jesus said: "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing (Jn. 6:63).

Confronted by the above verse, that my flesh profits NOTHING, I decided I NEEDED to learn everything God said about the spirit so I could have a meaningful and effective life!

Is This Anti-Christ Thing Blown Completely Out of Proportion?

Mark Virkler's picture

I mean, it is a big topic in the Bible, right? Why, the whole book of Revelation talks about the antichrist and the terrifying things he is going to do to the Church at the end of the age! But wait. Would you believe me if I told you the word “antichrist” does not appear even ONCE in the book of Revelation?

The Passion Translation - A Version with a Revelation of the Holy Spirit's Role in Our Lives

Mark Virkler's picture

For those who have read the Bible many times and are seeking a fresh inspiring version, I recommend The Passion Translation (TPT). I personally describe it as a paraphrase with a revelation of the workings of the Holy Spirit. This means it includes expanded descriptions of the intent of the verses by expounding on the revelation of the Holy Spirit’s power within each believer. My go-to Bible will continue to be the NASB as theological precision is key to me, but for devotional reading, I am glad to refer to The Passion Translation/paraphrase.

Which Bible Translation to Use and What Is the Role of the Spirit in Coming to Truth?

Mark Virkler's picture

This email request came to me recently: “The newer translations of the Bible have missing words, missing whole verses. We are just wanting to be sure which are the most correct versions of the Bible? At first, righteous anger rose up, knowing no one is supposed to add or subtract anything from the Holy Bible. (How dare they?) We’ve seen the arguments on both sides. We realize it’s something the enemy uses to keep people arguing and doubting the authority of Scripture. We’re not interested in division, only truth.” - Megan
