Blue Zones Where a Higher Percentage of People Live Beyond Age 100

Mark Virkler's picture

Dan Buettner has been investigating unique areas – known as Blue Zones – where people live extraordinarily long and healthy lives. In his newest book, The Blue Zones Solution, he explores the following Blue Zones: Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula; Ikaria, Greece; and Loma Linda, California.

This sub-group of people in America live an extra 10 years!

Loma Linda, California contains the highest concentration of Seventh-Day Adventists in the US, and those who most strictly follow the religious teachings average a 10-year increase in life expectancy beyond the typical American. Their religious teachings include consuming the Genesis 1:29 diet (plant-based which includes whole grains, fruits, vegtables and nuts), very little meat and then only from biblically clean animals (no pork or shellfish, for example), consuming only water for beverage and faithfulness to spouse, family and religious community. These incorporate eight of the nine longevity clues given below, and some Adventists consume wine which would be the ninth common denominator.

Receiving and Acting on a Word of Knowledge to Heal Chronic Sickness

Mark Virkler's picture

Eighty percent of sickness is often considered to be psychosomatically induced, meaning emotional upset triggered the sickness. Emotional traumas leave pictures of events festering within which become blocks to our body’s normal healing processes, as well as to God’s miracle working power. So let’s explore some examples, and then learn how to get a word of knowledge to remove the root emotional cause, so healing can flow.

My Checklist to Restore & Maintain My Health

Mark Virkler's picture

Below is my list of simple, orderly steps that I take when I get sick. It has hyperlinks which explain each protocol in detail. I have used them all successfully. I passionately pursue wholeness for several reasons: 1) Jesus paid a huge price to purchase my health with the stripes He bore at Calvary (Isa. 53:5), and I will not squander the price He paid, 2) I have a God-given destiny which I am eager to complete and 3) I desire to celebrate vibrant health in my golden years, and enjoy my great-grandchildren. The three keys to establishing and maintaining health are: 1) Detoxify the body, 2) Build the immune system, and 3) Nourish the cells, which are discussed in depth in our book Go Natural, and are summarized in the listings below.  Click here for my personal philosophy concerning health care.

Is Your Quiver Full Yet?

Mark Virkler's picture

Question: Isn’t a simple prayer, “Lord, heal me" enough? Do I really need all these different ways of praying?

You gave me a 7 step model for receiving a miracle, then 7 more steps for ministering a vast assortment of “gifts of healings.” Then there is the 7 step model for “prayers that heal the heart” and a 7 step model for praying words of faith.” Wow. That is 28 prayers! I want just one, please!

Let's Take Our Places in God's Final Act

Mark Virkler's picture

I recently watched one of the most inspiring movies of my life, Father of Lights. It's about taking God to the people. It's about miracles and healings taking place right before your eyes, on the streets. Kind of reminds you of the Gospels, doesn't it?

You will see a Hindu being led by God through a dream to go the following day to a specific location and a person would be there to teach him important truths. The next day, he met the man whom he was shown in his dream and he heard the Gospel message which he gladly received and went back to his village to share Jesus. All this is captured live on camera in powerful, moving drama. Visit filmmaker Darren Wilson's website and get a copy to see for yourself!

Gifts of the Spirit - Walk in Your Divine Giftedness

Mark Virkler's picture

This post has been inspired and contributed to by Peter Wollensack, and his new, soon-to-be released book, "Discovering Your Spiritual DNA." Peter may be contacted here.

We all walk in amazing giftedness from our heavenly Father. Because of His great love for us He bestows multiple gifts upon us. He begins by endowing us with unique heart motivations at birth, then matures us so we become special gifts which minister life to others (1 Pet. 4:10), and on top of that He places the Holy Spirit within us, so that we always have direct access to Him and His resources to meet any need we face as we walk through life. Wow! What could be better than that? Nothing that I can think of. Let's briefly review these three aspects of giftedness.

Seeing: Is It a Gift or a Skill? by Charity Kayembe

Mark Virkler's picture

My daughter Charity has some great thoughts about seeing in the spirit and hearing God's voice. Is the ability to sense the spirit a divinely-imparted gift bestowed on a few? Or is it a skill that we can all learn to cultivate and develop through time and practice?

You'll appreciate her word and I trust it will be a great encouragement to you to keep pressing in for all the Lord has for you.

Be blessed!

Healing - One Way the Kingdom of God Comes Near

Mark Virkler's picture

When we see the sick healed and demons cast out, these are outward demonstrations of the kingdom of God being manifested in our presence. The Bible says, the Kingdom is upon or near us.

“If I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you” (Matt. 12:28). "Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people" (Matt. 9:35). "You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him" (Acts 10:38).

Healed of Crippling Disease by the Hand of God

Mark Virkler's picture

“My name is Linda, I have experienced a miracle. Several years ago, in my quiet time, the Lord started calling me Narnie. I looked up the name and it means 'Beloved'." That statement begins a 10-page amazing testimony of God’s healing power in her life. In December of 2013, Linda’s doctor diagnosed her with shingles, and then in February of 2014, she was given the additional diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. Her legs no longer worked. She used a cane. She could not go up and down stairs. She was desperate for help.
