Question: As I counseled a troubled girl after one of my classes, her tearful passionate question was, "Why did my mom die last year of cancer? My mom believed with all her heart for a miracle of healing. There were prophecies by several recognized prophets who said she would be healed, and yet she died. I don’t know why. I need an answer!"

Three New Testament Words for Healing

Even though the following three Greek words have all been translated "healing" in the New Testament, they have three distinct and different meanings. That is a bit shocking and challenging to come to grips with. So let's explore the basic Greek meanings of each of these words, and then we will explore the two major words in depth, by providing you a list of each time they show up.

All Uses of Energeo (and Its Various Forms)

The Bible emphatically declares that we experience life when we live out of the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit and we are cursed if we trust in our own strength.

       "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words (rhemas) that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life (Jn. 6:63).

       Thus says the LORD, "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the LORD (Jer. 17:5).

These verses really make me passionate to fully understand and embrace His power!

We know it is the release of God’s power that brings healing and deliverance. We want to understand this power as well as we possibly can. Our passionate question is: “What does the release of God’s divine energy (energeo) feel like, and what does it accomplish?” We want to gain an understanding of how God uses the word energeo. According to My Blood Work - Healthier at Age 60

Now is the time to become healthier! How about taking three months (or six months) and focusing on health with your home group or your friends? We have two books which teach on health directly. The first one was written when I was 40, and is called Go Natural and has DVDs, a book and a workbook. This is ideal for group as well as individual study. I would suggest you also obtain, as a companion resource, our newest book on health which we wrote at age 60, Healthier Today than Yesterday. Here are the blood work numbers to prove I am healthier at age 60 than at age 40.

Mark, I just wanted to share something that was very exciting for me. In Chapter 3 of your How to Walk by the Spirit workbook (and on the lesson CD), you spoke of how God taught you that emotions are by-products of pictures. Well, during the lesson, I understood what you were saying. I was listening, thinking about it, and nodding my head in agreement...but without realizing it, it wasn't really hitting my heart. I guess you could say, the revelation wasn't my own...at least not yet.
