Most of us recognize King Solomon for his legendary wisdom, and we know God is the one who gave him the gift. What is often overlooked, however, is when God imparted that supernatural gift. In First Kings 3:5-15, we discover it actually happened in a dream.
We naturally expect God would have orchestrated this epic encounter during the day and we assume God would have wanted Solomon awake for such a significant event. Instead, we find the exact opposite is true, and that the entire conversation and impartation took place in a dream.
Harriet Tubman dreamt of escape routes as she conducted the Underground Railroad. She said God spoke to her powerfully through dreams, showing her maps and helping her find safe houses to guide slaves to freedom. By honoring her dreams and acting on them, she became a hero and saved the lives of hundreds of people.

At a recent seminar a mother and her daughter approached me. Angela (not her real name) was a beautiful girl in her early 20’s who had not been to our dream interpretation workshop that weekend because she was currently in rehab. She was able to attend the Sunday morning service at church though and had just had a powerful dream the night before.
