While many Christians believe God can speak through dreams, they consider it to be a rather out-of-the-ordinary experience. They may have felt the Lord lead them through a dream or two here or there over the years. Dreams: God's Contingency Plan

Charity Kayembe's picture

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve chose not to live out of the supernatural realm and dependence on God. They determined to live from their heads rather than their hearts, resolving to decide on their own between good and evil (Gen. 3:5).

But God did not give up on humankind that easily. When our minds rest at night, our spirits still fellowship with God. Even though we abandoned relationship with Him and chose to live out of our minds during the day, God knew He could still reach us at night through our dreams. This was His back-up plan.
