Ill be the maker of the movie, you be the movie maker.

Good morning God.

I can’t quite believe I just said that. That’s pretty much the craziest thing a human being can say. I mean, if there is a God we’re supposed to treat you with awe and respect. You’re God, not the neighbour - surely we can’t just throw a casual good morning at you?

And if you don’t exist, then saying hello to you is utter madness. God whether you exist or not, a casual conversation with you is crazy.

Good morning Mark. Can I contribute to this ‘madness’?

I wish you would.

Great. I guess it does seem a little crazy. For me, the Creator of the Universe to sit here and chat with a human. Wouldn’t it be more fun to hang about with others as big as me? Well the answer is yes and no.

How do you mean?

Yes because I do hang about with others just like me. I am three. There have always been two others just like me.

Whichever of us is speaking at the time, there are always two others. Do you get that?

I do. But this is crazy too God. A man, particularly one as messed up as me, can’t chat with God himself about issues of trinity and the suggestion that you all speak individually.

Says who?

Well until now I thought it was you, but maybe not?

Maybe not Mark. The reason I like to chat with humans, is, wait for this, I LIKE HUMANS. They spin my wheels, I like people. You’re good. You inspire me.

Do you mean you like to watch us? Sort of like watching our ‘life movies’ from up in heaven.

No Mark. I’m not watching your ‘movie’, I’m IN your ‘movie’. You’re one of the directors. I’m the other. We’re in this together. You play the lead, I play the other lead. You and me acting out your life together. You can’t do anything, utter a single line, without me being right there in front of you acting and speaking my part too. I’m not watching your life story, I’m IN your life story. I’m there. But I hide myself so that you can’t see me performing my part, UNLESS you want to see me.

But I show you where I’m hiding, which means I’m not really hidden at all. I’m RIGHT OVER HERE, but not in camera unless you point it this way. And you don’t need anyone else to point the camera. This is your movie Mark. Yours and mine. I’ll be the maker of the movie – you be the moviemaker.
