You are hearing me speak much more clearly than you realise about the things that worry you.

Really God?

Yes. Underneath what you THINK is confusion, you can actually hear me speaking.

Really??  It doesn’t feel like it!

Mark if you keep listening, what appears to be confusion will go. You will begin to realise that I am ALWAYS talking to you about the things that worry you. I am speaking calmly, quietly, and consistently. What makes it seem confusing is that he is ALWAYS doing the opposite. He screams, cajoles, whispers, taunts and questions every single thing I say.

Every single thing God?? I don’t know. That seems like a spiritual cop out. It seems too easy to blame the devil.

It’s entirely your choice Mark, but I suggest you test what I’m saying. Try it out. Because there is a very thin veil through which to push. On the other side is the clear sound of my voice. The veil is the sound of his confusing comments. The way to push through the veil is to listen to me, and immediately you’ll be through. Suddenly you’ll hear my voice clearly. More to the point you’ll realise you have always heard it. You’ll realise that I am saying the very things you suspected I might be saying.

You’ll realise that I haven’t changed, and that your hope is still worth hoping for. The hope I gave you when you were young, is still the hope I want you to hope for. He tries to tell you that you’ve been passed by. But he’s wrong.

That’s all I have to do? Don’t you want me to get my life all sorted out first?

Not at all. The bible made that quite clear. I spoke, and still do speak to everyone who wants to talk. We’ll talk first. Any ‘sorting out’ can be done later.

The only effort you need to put in is the effort of listening to me. Which is difficult because of his constant and confusing counter-comments. But don’t give up. Listen.  And when he butts in with confusion, ignore it. JUST KEEP LISTENING to me. It’s difficult, but it’s worth it.
