A poet said long ago, to thine own self be true and you cannot be false to any man. Do you think that this assertion is true? Even if it is, do you make the assumption that you are true to yourself, and that most people are? This would require that you have a complete understanding of your own identity, apart from external factors that have influenced you, and that your lived experience is a true expression of that identity. How common do you think these conditions are? Most people are alienated from their own reality. Don’t be discouraged. Abide in me and you will know the truth, even about yourself, and be free.
